After seeing the footage of police brutality upon children and poor citizens of Belize it is disgusting to see the level of lack of human rights by the Belizean authorities.
Island residents on Ambergris Caye, Belize woke up on April 1, 2017, to shocking footage of an altercation that took place at Central Park, San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize involving night club patrons and San Pedro Police officers. During the incident shots were fired by a police officer in which four bystanders were injured. Three officers were captured on surveillance camera stomping on a young man even as he turns himself in to police in his family’s yard on Police Street Extension. There does not appear to be any justifiable reason for the attack on Randy Chambers so that his family is preparing to take legal action. News Five’s Isani Cayetano reports.

With some sixteen weeks of intense training, one of the biggest cohorts of recruits to date marched out in style in front of dignitaries to be officially admitted to the force. Over one hundred and fifty became police officers; among those were some Special Constables, who also trained to become full-fledged officers of the law.
